Adhesion of the skin of the neck of the penis to the head of the penis after circumcision

Adhesion of the skin of the neck of the penis to the head of the penis often occurs in post-circumcision conditions. where there is a shift of the skin around the neck of the penis towards the head of the penis, due to the prominent suprapubic fat (top genital area).

It was reported that 63% of the patients presenting for circumcision revision were found to have prominent suprapubic fat pads. Most of the adhesions often detach spontaneously as the penis grows, suprapubic fat shrinks, and erections become more frequent. There are 2 types of adhesions, namely light (figure a) and heavy (figure b). If a mild type of adhesions occurs, the release of the adhesions can be done in the clinic by releasing the adhesions after the administration of topical/local anesthetics. For severe adhesions, surgery with local/general anesthesia is sometimes required

The recurrence of this adhesion can also be reduced by regular pressing of the suprapubic area (above the genitals) to make the penis protrude and applying ointment around the neck of the penis.
