Paraphimosis

is an emergency condition, where there is pinching of the foreskin of the penis on the neck of the penis, and the foreskin cannot be returned to its normal position. occurs frequently in uncircumcised men. generally require immediate medical attention, because it can cause gangrene (cell death of the penis organ) because the blood supply is disrupted due to pinching of the foreskin

When the foreskin is pinched on the neck of the penis for a long time, it will bind tightly to the tissue of the penis organ. Interfere with blood flow. Causes swelling of the glans penis (head of the penis). The patient will complain of pain and progress to gangrene (destruction of penile tissue cells).

Adult patients with paraphimosis often complain of penile pain. In pediatric patients, paraphimosis is often accompanied by blindness/impaired urinary flow

On examination, it was found that the head of the penis was enlarged and swelling around the neck of the penis

Therapy options

Reduction
Under local anesthesia, pressure is applied to the swollen area, then repositions the foreskin to its original position. The weakness of this action is that paraphimosis often recurs

Circumcision / Medical Circumcision
With local anesthesia, taking medically, the foreskin of the penis that clamps the neck of the penis
