Otomycosis
Otomycosis is a fungal infection of the ear. This fungal infection generally occurs in the outer ear canal, which is the part between the ear canal and the eardrum.
Otomycosis usually affects only one ear.
Otomycosis requires appropriate treatment. This is so that the otomycosis does not get worse and causes complications, such as hearing loss or deafness.
Otomycosis occurs when fungus enters and develops in the ear. There are many different types of fungi that can cause otomycosis, but the most common are Candida and Aspergillus.
Several factors can increase a person's risk of suffering from otomycosis, namely:
Symptoms of otomycosis can vary in each patient. In otomycosis due to the fungus Aspergillus, yellow or gray-black spots may appear around the ears. Meanwhile, in otomycosis due to the Candida fungus, the spots do not appear, but the patient's ears secrete thick white fluid.
